Excellent Opening Cruise
Published 15:23 on 13 May 2024
Our opening cruise took place this past weekend and was a great success.
Five yachts and one dinghy took part and enjoyed a lovely sunny sail to Limekilns on Saturday afternoon even if the light north easterly was in short supply from time to time.
On arrival at Limekilns we received a warm welcome from Forth Cruising Club.
Once we were all secured at the quayside folk sat and enjoyed the lovely warm weather before we all headed to the Inn at Charlestown for an excellent meal and great company.
The return journey on Sunday for the very early leavers was very pleasant, those leaving in the afternoon had much feistier trip home in the now fresh north easterly and experienced a very rough sea state when rounding Hound Point.
Special thanks to Alastair Johnson & Stephen Aird on Pegasus II for towing Paul Hunts Kiri home after they experienced engine failure.
Kiri was met at Cramond by the clubs main safety boat and manoeuvred safely back onto her mooring.
Huge thanks are due to our Sailing Secretary, Chris Callender for his excellent organisation of the event which was much enjoyed by all.
