Bar Marker Pole Replaced

The marker pole at the west end of the river bar, which has been missing since the February storms, has now been replaced. This is channel marker no. 9 on the Pilotage chart.

There is currently no depth gauge on the pole, but a new one will be added in due course.

In the meantime, there is a white band on the pole which indicates a depth of between 3ft and 4ft at the bar. If you can see all of this white band, there may not be enough water to cross the bar, although of course, this depends on the draft of your boat.

Many thanks to the team who installed the pole once the river flow had calmed down enough.

Channel marker 6 is still missing, and will be replaced by a green buoy in due course.
