Criuser Race in the Sun!

Three yachts took part in the Cruiser race on Saturday 31 August in a fresh north easterly and brilliant sunshine. The reaching start took the boats from A mark past Y and Z and onto H just off Barnbougle Castle. During this leg Talisker helmed by Dave Jamieson tried to overtake Andy Walker in Exisle however Andy decided against having a luffing match and this paid off as he held a small lead at H. Rounding H Andy decide to hold on starboard tack while Dave in Talisker and Alastair Johnson in Pegasus II both opted to tack to port.

As the boats approached channel mark 16 Talisker had gained the lead and rounded the mark first followed closely by Exisle however on the broad reach to D mark and onto the finish line at A mark Exisle overtook Talisker to cross first with a Alastair in Pegasus II picking up third.

All enjoyed their sail in the fresh north easterly breeze and the very welcome sunshine.
