Author Sandy Winterbottom will be talking about her book:

In 2016, Sandy Winterbottom embarked on an epic voyage on a tall ship to Antarctica.

In South Georgia, she discovered the dark legacy of industrial-scale whaling.

And she also stumbled upon the grave of an eighteen-year-old boy from Edinburgh.

The Two-Headed Whale vividly brings to life the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the vast Southern Oceans ...

... and tells the story of Anthony Ford, the boy in the grave, as he sailed the same seas.

Part memoir, part environmental study, and part history text, The Two-Headed Whale evokes the drama and beauty of life at sea.
