Dinghy Autumn 5

On Sunday 1 September we had part 5 of our dinghy Autumn series. The racing was held in a cold grey north easterly and the breeze was up for the first race with the gusts up at force five. Ewan Christison in his Laser/ILCA7 set the standard for the afternoon recording three first places and following on with three second places was Leonie Griffin and Janice Kerrisk in their Wanderer. Janice and Leonie had set the Wanderer up well with really neat reefing making the boat easier to handle whilst keeping the speed up. Races two and three of the afternoon were held in slightly less breeze but still gave the competitors a good challenge with the remainder of the fleet enjoying varying results and quite a lot of swimming! The safety boat crew: Andy Carr and Campbell Calder were kept very busy and this led to a shortage of photographs for this event! The next race in the series is on Saturday 7 September.
