Chilly Free Sail

There was a chilly Free Sail on Sunday 15th February with six boats taking part.

A couple of our newer members, Rod Finlayson and Adam James took club Lasers, and Steven van Stiphout was single-handed on his GP14. Andy Carr and Pavol Mraz took a jaunt to Inchcolm Island while Chris Callendar and Lawrie Elliott found the wind at the end of Cramond Island.

The forecast windy conditions tapered off and wind became hard to find, coming from the SSW. Initial bright sunny conditions changed to rain over time, then the wind dropped off completely and four boats had to be towed back to the inner slip.

There was quite a bit of excitement around our new Affiliate Group members from Heriot Watt University who were testing out their two hydrogen-powered boats in the river.
